| ABOUT DARIA |
Daria is a Polish / English bilingual student, teacher, interpreter and researcher. She graduated from the University of East London in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (BA TESOL, Cambridge Celta) and in Multilingualism (MA). She was awarded The Kerry Dodd Prize for Linguistics and The Peter Martin Prize for Research Excellence for an outstanding academic achievement by the Cass School of Education and Communities. She developed further academic curiosity about language and enrolled at London Metropolitan University and focused on another dimension of language - translation. While already working as a private English language tutor, Daria gained her DPSI, a professional qualification for interpreters accredited by Chartered Institute of Linguists, and began to work for public sectors institutions such as NHS, MoJ or London City Councils. Both as an interpreter and as a language specialist she also worked analysing Polish / English bilingual children's speech for a team of speech and language therapists London. She works at Birkbeck University of London as a research assistance for the AHRC funded academic project TLANG focusing on multilingual practices of people living in superdiverse communities in the UK.
